De Novo PreLoved, Vintage, Antiques & Upstyles ( Aka De Novo or De Novo by Michelle) is proud to curate, create & offer highly sought after unique & one-of-a-kind preloved, vintage, antique & upstyled items at fair & reasonable prices. So that De Novo can continue offering this, De Novo is unable to incur the shipping/handling costs for all orders, with some exception, otherwise shipping/handling of all items are at the customer’s expense. De Novo uses several carriers to ship, most commonly USPS or UPS. If buyer prefers another carrier, although not guaranteed, De Novo will do it’s  best to accommodate the buyer's request. Buyer should contact De Novo immediately following purchase to make a request for a specific shipping carrier to be used. Any differences in the shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer & must be paid to De Novo prior to the item being shipped.

Free Shipping on Orders Over $75 (exceptions apply)

De Novo is pleased to offer free shipping. This is automatically applied to all orders over $75 for delivery in the United States for item(s) listed on the website under 40lbs (either singular or aggregate) with some exception(s)(*). If, at any time, multiple items are ordered totaling $75 or more (weighing less than 40 lbs single or aggregate) & buyer is charged shipping, De Novo will refund buyer any paid shipping cost (if applicable). De Novo does not sell or ship internationally.

Shipping Orders Under $75

De Novo currently offers flat-rate shipping, whenever possible, on orders under $75. Shipping costs may be variable depending on the size & weight of item(s) to be shipped. Order processing time (time required to process your order and prepare for shipping) is generally 2-3 business days & transit time is 1-3 business days, for a total estimated delivery time of approximately 3-6 business days. Weekends & holidays are not included as business days. The size of box required to ship your item is based on specific dimensions of each item(s) purchased. Other variables that may affect shipping costs are weight, delivery location, packing complexity, and carrier rates. When necessary, in order to accomodate the size & fragility of the item being shipped, and to allow packing of the item to ensure greater protection, De Novo will use the next larger box size available if the smaller size it too limiting for the space necessary to pack the item being shipped more securely. De Novo does it's best to predict the shipping & handling cost for each item; however, reserves the right, if necessary, to adjust the shipping cost if the predicted cost has changed based on updated carrier rates. The predicted shipping cost is included in the description of each product & total shipping automatically populates on the check out page, with some exception(s)(*). In the event an item is going to cost more to ship to the buyer than the predicted cost, De Novo will contact the buyer & provide the updated shipping amount; in order to collect the additional amount required for shipping. If the buyer is no longer interested in purchasing the item due to the increased shipping amount, De Novo will cancel the order & the customer will automatically be reimbursed for the total amount of purchase. If the buyer decides to move forward with the purchase, the additional shipping costs must be paid before the item is shipped. De Novo will provide instructions for how to pay the additional shipping cost at that time.

Combined Shipping Rates

Purchased items are packed for shipping separately. If you would like your items consolidated, packed & shipped in one box, please contact De Novo. At the customer’s request, & when possible, De Novo will attempt to pack items together. All items must fit within the dimensions of the shipping purchased. For example; two small items are able to fit within one small box. However, if those two items require packing in a larger box, the customer must pay the difference, if any, in the shipping cost before items are shipped. If all items purchased are able to be consolidated & shipped in one box that remains within the dimension(s) purchased (i.e., two small items purchased, shipping paid for two small boxes; however, items fit in one small box), De Novo will credit, at the customer’s request, the difference between one & multiple boxes purchased. Customer must first place the order & pay for shipping. De Novo will work with customer directly to provide a credit, if applicable. It is not possible to adjust the shipping prior to purchase. 

Incorrect Shipping Address

De Novo is not responsible for addresses entered incorrectly at checkout. If buyer recognizes the address entered is incorrect, please contact De Novo within 24 hours of purchase, otherwise the purchased item will be shipped to the address provided. If it's necessary to re-ship the purchased item to the buyer's correct address (assuming item returned 'invalid or incorrect address'), buyer is responsible for additional shipping costs. Should the buyer decide not to purchase the item due to additional shipping costs, & request a refund, De Novo will refund 50% of original purchase price. Before refunding 50% the purchased item MUST be successfully returned to De Novo. De Novo will inspect the item to ensure it is in the same condition as prior to being shipped the first time. If damage is found, the 50% refunded  to the customer will be negotiated to a lesser amount in order to cover losses (ONLY if shipping insurance provided by shipping company is not paying for damage/loss). This is an unusual & rare event; however, in full transparency, De Novo feels responsible to inform of any & all possible outcomes. No shipping costs will be refunded as De Novo is not able to recover these costs from the carrier. Not reimbursing shipping costs is considered standard procedure among carriers & the industry.

*Extra Large, Over-Sized or Awkward to Package Items

Some extra large, over-sized or awkward to pack items may require special packaging or additional shipping charges due to overages & insurance fees charged by shipping carriers. These items require additional work & expenses to deliver the item to the buyer. If your item meets this criteria, additional charges may be applied. Shipping costs are determined by the size dimensions, weight, location of delivery and other considerations. The cost of shipping may not be determined until an item has been purchased & it's possible to research cost of shipping through several carriers to determine the best rate possible. These items have an asterisk (*) symbol next to the product name on the product page. When one of these item(s) are purchased, a minimum shipping charge based on the dollar amount & weight of the item will be charged as normal during the check-out process. De Novo will do everything possible to honor to the shipping amount charged during checkout; however, if it simply is not possible, De Novo will contact the buyer upon receiving the order request to work out delivery methods and to inform the buyer of additional shipping costs. It’s impossible to predict shipping charges prior to receiving detailed information regarding where the item will be shipped to. The nature of these items are that they will likely not fit in standard boxes & will require extra shipping charges. FREE Shipping (orders totaling $75 single or aggregate) on *Extra Large, Over-Sized or Awkward to Package Items
De Novo makes every attempt to honor free shipping based on existing guidelines; however, reserves the right to (re)negotiate shipping fees with the buyer when *Extra Large, Over-Sized or Awkward to Package Items are purchased. Often these items require non-standard packaging that may increase the overall cost of shipping as noted above. 

Shipping Cost Estimates & Holds

If a buyer would like to receive a specific shipping cost estimate prior to making the actual purchase, the buyer should contact De Novo using the button below, with the name of the specific item the buyer would like to purchase, along with any additional information necessary to research estimated costs (i.e. buyer’s shipping address etc.). De Novo does not hold items & there is no guarantee of the item’s availability once De Novo has completed research & provided a shipping cost estimate to the inquiring buyer. The majority of products De Novo has in stock are "Limited Edition" with a quantity of only one available. For this reason, potential buyers should be aware that once an item is purchased by another customer, it’s likely there will not be another of the same available at that time.

Local Buyers

Buyer's local to the Seattle, Washington area have the option of picking up purchased item(s). If a buyer prefers to pick up item(s) purchased, the buyer must contact De Novo within 24 hours of purchasing the item to avoid it being shipped & to arrange a set upon pick up time. Once pick-up has been arranged & the item is picked up by the buyer, shipping costs will be refunded to the buyer. Should a buyer request to pick up an item & is a no-show for the arranged pick up time, De Novo will automatically ship the item to the buyer without further notice.
